THE KERYGMA CONFERENCE

The first Kerygma Conference was held in 2007. It is a brainchild of Catholic lay preacher and author Bo Sanchez, and is a three-day event in Manila and a one-day event in Davao and Cebu. KCon includes worship, entertainment, talks, Mass and healing – and in such an inspiring way that more people have come back year after year. From around 5,000 participants in 2007 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig, about 15000 people attended last year’s conference in Manila, Cebu and Davao. In 2009, a one-day conference was started in Cebu. Last year, another was begun in Davao. KCon 2011 promises to be another life-giving event and has been dubbed “The biggest inspirational conference in the country.” Fellowship, inspiration and fun come together on November 18 to 20. It will indeed be glory time!

BISHOP CHITO TAGLE TO SPEAK IN KERYGMA CONFERENCE 2011

BISHOP Luis Antonio G. Tagle, known for his quick wit and sense of humor, will be one of the leading speakers in the Kerygma Conference 2011 to be held at the Philippine International Convention center November 18-20, 2011. Bishop Tagle will talk on Daddy: The Pope, which is about the modern role of the Pope, in the KCON segment on Catholic Faith, to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center Plenary Hall on November 19, 2011. Kerygma Conference (KCON) is an annual event that includes worship, entertainment, Mass and talks to discuss Catholic issues and practical living in the modern times. The conference stemmed from rallies of the readers of Kerygma, an inspirational magazine founded by lay preacher Bro. Bo Sanchez, who will be the main conference speaker. Bro. Bo named Kerygma magazine after the Greek word kerygma which means “proclaiming the Gospel”. KCON 2011 centers on the theme G2G, acronym for Glory to Glory “God has already empowered us to succeed and live an abundant life,” Bro. Bo said. “Now, we can move on from one glorious life to another,” he added. Thus, this year’s theme is “Glory to Glory”, which is based from 2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all... are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” KCON 2011 will be a three-day inspirational learning event starting with a Leadership Conference to be held at the PICC on November 18, 8 a.m. to 5 p. m, to be followed by an Opening Concert at the CCP Grounds, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The following day, November 19, there will be a whole day simultaneous Glory to Glory conferences for Families, Singles, Youth, Solo Parents, Single Blessedness, Faith and Inner Healing. On the third day, November 20, Bro Bo will lead the Grand Feast which will include celebration of the Holy Mass, worship, and his Glory to Glory talk at the CCP Open Grounds starting at 4 p.m. KCON 2011 starts on November 18 with a series of talks on Leadership led by Bro. Bo who will talk on The Power of the Leader. BO SANCHEZ

Bo Sanchez was only 12 years old when he attended his first prayer meeting. He gave his first talk a few weeks after that – in the midst of mostly family members. The elder who asked him to give the talk had received a prophecy that Bo will preach to thousands. That has come to pass. Bo has also become a national bestselling author and winner of The Ten Oustanding Young Men (TOYM) for 2006. In 2007, he received the Serviam Award, the highest award of the Catholic Mass Media Awards, as well as the Golden Gavel Award by the Toastmasters International, the highest award given to non-Toastmasters for public speaking. On the other hand, Bo founded the Light of Jesus (LOJ) Family in 1980, and continues to provide direction and leadership to LOJ, envisioning 1000 Feasts all over the world. (The Feast is how the LOJ prayer meetings are called.) The Light of Jesus Family has helped Bo start various independent ministries, beneficiaries of Kerygma Conference. These include Anawim Lay Missions, a home for the abandoned elderly; Grace to Be Born, a halfway house for women in crisis; Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, an orphanage; Pag-asa ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation; He Cares Foundation, which helps streetkids; the Light of Jesus Counseling Center; and the Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation, Inc. (SVRTV) which runs KCon. In another endeavour he is passionate about, Bo started the Catholic Filipino Academy to help parents who want to homeschool their kids. Bo is also a micro-entrepreneur and a financial literacy advocate. His regular blogs may be found at www.bosanchez.ph
